Vignamaggio, a Tuscan Historical Villa from the 14th century, is today a villa surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, and offers accommodation in the Chianti region with rooms, suites and apartments inside the villa and in the finely renovated farmhouses. Its wine production got several International prizes and awards. In 2011 Vignamaggio got the 1st prize of the International competition Best of Wines Tourism. The historical residence is also famous for other reasons: at Vignamaggio the famous Mona Lisa, la “Gioconda” painted by Leonardo da Vinci was born. In more recent times the villa was the location of the movie “Much Ado About Nothing” by Kenneth Branagh and of some TV advertising. Besides the accommodation, it is also possible to book a guided tour to the cellars with tasting of typical Tuscan products and wines and to the wonderful Italian Garden.
